The complexity of these media often requires for stochastic modeling, together with advanced analytical and computational approaches that combine tools from partial differential equations and probability theory, in order to analyze, characterize, and simulate wave fields propagating in such environments. The aim of this mini-symposium is to present an overview of recent advances in the theory of wave propagation in random multi-scale media and its applications. Topics include boundary stochastic homogenization, numerical methods for wave propagation in complex random media, as well as theoretical and experimental inverse problems in multi-scattering environments.
