Many wave phenomena involve more than one scale in space, in time, or both. Multiscale problems are notoriously challenging, both for the analysis and for the numerical discretization, and their emergence can have many different origins: coefficients or initial data with multiple scales, singularly perturbed PDEs, or space discretizations with elements of very different sizes. The goal of this minisymposium is to bring together different perspectives on the numerical treatment of multiscale problems.
